The Pride Parade was quite possibly one of the coolest things I have experienced living in New York. There was so much enthusiasm as the march made its way downtown.
The parade was quite a spectacle! There were plenty of crazy costumes, a few scantily dressed men, and a fair number of drag queens. However, my favorite part of the parade was when couples who had recently married marched through. Each couple held as a sign with their anniversary date as they followed the governor who made gay marriage possible. I also found the political show of support to be surprisingly strong. The mayor, the governor, and a senator were all present. In addition, the firefighters, as well as the police were in on the parade action.
